Why, yes, yes there is such a book. Several actually, I suppose.

First to mind, and most important, is Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton; I read my copy of that book (within the first few years) so many times the front cover and first page, or two, fell off! The spine is trashed and my mom had to cover the whole book in this super strong, clear tape stuff, so that I could keep reading it without ruining the poor thing more. I'm keeping it forever! Every time I read it, I'm a little older, a little wiser, and a little more well-read (read smarter), so I understand more of the complexities and technicalities in the book. The whole plot concept gives me geeky joy, Ian Malcolm (the Mathemetician!) gives me geeky joy, and dinosaurs are cool. I like the movie too, but the book is a million times better; it has more dino time, more attacks, the dinos are scarier, the characters are smarter and not as annoying, and it doesn't dumb down the science (or make up couples that don't exist! stupid movie).

Next thing that imediately sprang to mind, is the Mercedes Lackey Valdemar Series. There are a lot of books (like 34?) in her series and I recommend them ALL! But the one that I love the mostest (and reread cause I love it) is - The Last Herald Mage Trilogy: Magic's Pawn. Go check out the website, the first two chapters of the book are up there too. Anyways, it's the first book in that trilogy (she writes in trilogies a lot!), and the story revolves around the character Vanyel Ashkevron. This book was my very first introducion to gay/slash/yaoi love in books. The fact that he's into boys is a part of the story, but it's natural and very well done. The plot is awesome, and very h/c, in fact, I think this may be to wence I owe my h/c kink, lol.

I must say that I am typical and my fave is "Thriller" out of all his songs. But I do have love for: Bad, Beat It, Billie Jean, Dirty Diana, You Are Not Alone and Smooth Criminal. AND from the way old days: Ain't No Sunshine and Rockin' Robin.

I say a conditional yes.

In general people do deserve second chances because things change all the time, including people. A young foolish person may make mistakes, that as an older wiser adult they would not make again. Also, life circumstances change and often times those deeply effect how people behave at given times in their lives.

I say conditional because in my mind it really depends on what the chance is for and how badly they screwed the pooch the first go round. Some things you should just get one go at and if you fail, too bad there are other more important considerations than your feelings. (the mentions of things like sexual abuse and extreme violence, etc.)

So, people do deserve second chances, but I think they ought to try to earn them and be worthy of them, and that you shouldn't be stupid about what you expect them to accomplish (or fail at) the second go round.

[Error: unknown template qotd]Well, when I was in college there were some teachers that posted things online and you needed an email address to get notes and updates and stuff, so I had to jump into the online world and it was sink or swim. A friend told me about yahoo and how I could get a free email address (key word for a college student is free), so off I went. tpena comes from the initial of my first name (Tiffany) and my last name (Pena), and the 19 is how old I was at the time. I am horible at remembering things so I had to k.i.s.s. (keep it simple stupid). Well, to this day I am still horrible at remembering things so I almost never change the username from that, and man do I get pissed if I have to pick something else (like tpena21 or tapena). ARG! people should know I have dibs and RESPECT!

[Error: unknown template qotd]Well, my personal motto was "I reserve the right to call all people younger & shorter than me - annoying, evil little munchkins." Which I used to do an aweful lot, not so much lately as I now work at a junior high, lol.

Fave quotes? Well I have a TON but my 2 current faves are from a harry potter fanfic called "Unexpected" by dracademented.

"When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself." (Draco from HP fanfic re:how awesome he is)

"The lion may be king of the jungle, but drop him into Antarctica, and he's just a penguin's bitch." (Pansy from HP fanfic re:gryffindors)

I'm definitely dead? ok, then donate organs and such as long as they are viable and I wasn't horribly poisoned or something. Not buried but cremated & ashes spread somewhere cool (sea cliffs).

wow, a lot, but I miss Silk Stalkings, Magnificent 7 (though fanfic keeps me going), The Big Easy, and too many more to name them all.

I couldn't care less. Never even read the books, just some online blurbs and what people tell me about them. I guess I'm kind of interested to see the movie and read a book, but not enough to shell out any actual $$ myself, LOL. Guess we'll see what happens over x-mas, though they are not on my list (like I said little to no interest there).

Nope. My Mom is never lost, she has like 1200 maps. My Dad just bought himself a TomTom so he won't get lost either. But me, lol, I'd rather just drive around and try and find the place if I got lost (though if super-lost and on a schedule, I'll call my moms).

[Error: unknown template qotd] There is a breed of spider that lives under water, yup under the water. It takes air down in pockets and has a nice little home down there, nature's way ahead of us humans in the collonize the seas area, heh.
